Office Loans Mature Into Headwinds

Roughly one-third of mortgage volume on office properties is coming due between now and the end of 2026, according to a review of the Matrix property database. The maturity wave is likely to lead to increasing distress, thanks to reduced demand due to hybrid work arrangements and capital constraints as lenders and investors attempt to reduce exposure to the sector.
